Screw conveyors

Screw conveyor (screw) - designed for transporting bulk, small pieces, roughened cargo. The screw conveyor can be made, as in the open design - in the chute, and closed - in a sealed enclosure. The use of open screw conveyors makes it possible to control its operation in any place.

Screw conveyors are very widely used in technological lines of a wide variety of industries: construction, processing, chemical and other food and non-food industries, in warehouses, in packing and packaging lines, etc.

The screw conveyor has the following structure: a cylindrical body, equipped from different ends with loading and unloading pipes. Inside the housing, a screw auger is mounted on the bearings, which is the feed element. Rotating, the auger captures with its blades the supplied product and moves it in the direction from the loading window to the unloading one. Screw conveyors are able to move material in vertical, inclined and horizontal directions. In order to distribute the transported product in different directions, the screw can be reversible, i.e. change the direction of rotation. The main advantage of the screws is their tightness, which during the transportation of dusty products makes their use the only possible solution. In addition to this, they are compact, simple and reliable. The weak points of screw conveyors include the fact that they are subject to wear, especially when transporting abrasive materials, as well as relatively high energy consumption.

The housing of the auger conveyor is made of sections, usually from 3 to 6 m long, interconnected by bolts. The length of a horizontal screw conveyor can be up to 40 m.

Depending on the task of the properties of the material being transported, the screw of the screw can be made solid, bladed, tape. Depending on the application, the housing can be made of black painted steel or galvanized. For food, we use stainless steel food.
